Ali Taylor is a director and artist with flair for fashion and capturing the moment. Her films and music videos are strong, energetic and stylish.

Ali left home at the tender age of 16 to attend art school where she learned to paint and create stop motion animation. By 17 she was selling her art to help fund college. Three years later she'd started a career as an animation director, making short films and channel idents for the likes of Channel 4. She'd also established herself as poster designer to legendary Shoreditch Post-Burlesque night The Modern Times Club. This lead Ali to Paris Fashion Week in 2005, where she was invited to paint a 20ft arch of kitsch flowers over Vivienne Westwood's Spring Summer Ultra Femininity catwalk in the Louvre.

Ali's illustration work has been published in magazines like Dazed and Confused, Vice and Sleazenation, but her drawing and art direction also inform the way she visualises for film and her many live art projects. She's art directed live window displays, consisting of real women, for posh sex shop Co-Co Der Mer, where her work still hangs in the peep-show style changing rooms, and has taught the art of erotic drawing to it's clients. Recently she's contributed to the gin soaked sin pit look of the deliberately distressed shop floor at A Child of the Jago, Joe Corre and Barnzley Armitage's shop, which sells their menswear label Terrorist. It's easy to see how this mix of art, fashion and fantasy feeds her films and videos.

Ali strives to create a balance between beauty and subtle destruction in much of her work, with an emphasis on dressing up and creating strong personas. Characters are just as important as style. She continuously develops a directors lookbook, a rich portfolio of photography and drawings, which can be viewed in person or previewed in part in "stills" on this website.
